T. Lobsang Rampa
Tibetan Lama and Mystic,
Tuesday Lobsang Rampa was the author of 22 books back in the late sixties and early seventies rarely heard of today here in the United States Lobsang Rampa was quite a controversial author twenty years ago. Lobsang Rampa writes about his life training culled from the greater Lamaseries of Tibet and from powers which were gained by a very close adherence to the metaphysical laws. This is knowledge taught by the ancients of old, Rampa claims , written in the pyramids of Egypt, in the high temples of the Andes? and in the greatest repository of knowledge in the world, the highlands of Tibet.
“I AM A TIBETAN LAMA WHO CAME TO THE WESTERN WORLD IN PURSUANCE OF HIS DESTINY, CAME AS FORETOLD, AND ENDURED ALL THE HARDSHIPS AS FORETOLD.” (Lobsang Rampa , Doctor from Lhasa).
Lobsang Rampa had many followers but it never was a cult by any means, his teachings would be considered new age today. A Tibetan lama writing of his life and on everything from life after death, astral traveling, the aura and aural reading, extra terrestrial?s, and even the origins of this world. He mixes science, religion , and the occult. and is very forward about his thoughts.
“I , THE AUTHOR, STATE THAT THIS BOOK IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE. SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE BOGGED DOWN IN MATERIALISM MAY PREFER TO CONSIDER IT AS FICTION. THE CHOICE IS YOURS- BELIEVE OR DISBELIEVE ACCORDING TO YOUR STATE OF EVOLUTION. I AM NOT PREPARED TO
DISCUSS THE MATTER OR TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT IT. THIS BOOK AND ALL MY BOOKS, ARE TRUE!” (LOBSANG RAMPA).
However Lobsang Rampa does forces his views on anyone and yet very heated controversy arose during the publication of his first book (THE THIRD EYE). The contention of author that a Tibetan lama was writing of his life “through” him, and had in fact fully occupied his body following a slight concussive accident, was not on to which many readers in the West were likely to give credence. , I However prefer to keep an open mind. Others, and it is likely that they are the majority, are openly skeptical. many of t, however, whether they are specialists on the far east or ordinary readers who enjoy an unusual book, would be confounded by Rampa?s obvious mastery of the subject, opening wide a door on a fascinating and little – known part of the world, and by the absence of any record of previous literary ability. Certainly no one was able to disprove his facts. Whatever the truth of the matter should be ( if it is ever ascertainable) it is right that his books should be available to the public, if only because they are highly enjoyable books on there own merit. on the larger, fundamental issues which they raise, every reader must come to a personal decision. the books are as Lobsang Rampa wrote them. And they must speak for themselves. Dr. Rampa has been dead for about twenty five years now but I once met with a Tibetan monk and asked about Lobsang Rampa, he called him a guru of sorts and a stretcher of truth.
In the book YOU FOREVER doctor Rampa begins to relate a carbon atom with our own universe, The atom being like a miniature solar system. the nucleus of the atom
represents the sun in our solar system. Around this sun rotate electrons in much the same way as our solar system planets revolve around our sun.
“Each of us is a Universe, a universe in which planets -molecules – spin around a central sun. Every rock, twig, or drop of water is composed of molecules in constant , unending motion.

We are composed of molecules in motion. That motion generates a form of electricity which, uniting with electricity delivered by the overself, gives sentient life.
Around the poles of the earth magnetic storms flare and glow , giving rise to the Aurora borealis with all its colored lights. Around all planets – and molecules – magnetic radiation?s interplay and interact with other radiation?s emanating from nearby worlds and molecules. NO MAN IS A WORLD ONTO HIMSELF, No world or molecule can exist without other worlds or molecules. Every creature, world or molecule depends upon the existence of other creatures, worlds or molecules that its own existence may continue”. (Lobsang Rampa, YOU FOREVER)
After reading any one of Lobsang Rampa?s books you realize he is not just a philosopher,
everything he writes down he writes down as what to him is fact. He believes it to be true, its not just an opinion or a point of view. And Dr. Rampa is quite knowledgeable with being able to back himself up scientifically. In the above quote he mentions the overself which is described in better detail in his book THE THIRTEENTH CANDLE.
The overself, Lobsang Rampa seems to say, is our true self our “soul” the overself is nine tenths of the sub- conscious of man or, sort to speak, the man behind the scenes. So man starts out limited to one tenth, and thus runs around in the dark most of his life. The overself seems to be the real you , and is – as far as earth terms are concerned – blind, deaf, and static. The overself wants to know what things are like on this earth, it wants sensation fast because in the realm in which the overself normally lives things move at the rate of a thousand years , or so, instead of a day. That is why Lobsang Rampa states that in one of the Christian hymns there is a piece about a thousand years being the twinkling of an eye. But anyway the overself is kind of likened to the brain of a human,
The overself causes a human, or get this more than one human, to do certain things and to experience certain things, the sensations then are relayed back to the ?brain? overself, who then vicariously enjoys or suffers from those sensations. We have difficulties, because on this world we are only dealing in three dimensional terms so how are we to understand concepts which may demand perhaps nine dimensions. This is all very similar to Madame Blavatsky and the Theosophists Who believe the soul is like a fourth dimensional cube, this “soul”, like the overself has many different facets yet we can only see a tiny part of the big picture, the one side of the square or in this case like Dr. Rampa states, the one extension of our overself Hmmmm, anyway it seems here on earth we are extensions of our overself, an extenuation in the same way as you can trust an arm through a window and feel things in a room beyond your sight. So there you are, working for yourself. Any thing you do there benefits your overself and so benefits you because you are the same thing, or part of it.
So our overself is like a octopus sending its tentacles to earth or other worlds!
the tentacles being the extensions – humans. This big entity, the overself has the ability to think and thereby to cause extensions of itself to shoot out wherever desired – pseudopods, us humans supposedly. Our overself, remaining in one place ,has the ability to cause extensions to be sent away from the body but still attached to it, and at the of the extensions there is a node of consciousness which can be aware of things through sight or sound, nodes of consciousness which mearly receive on different frequencies of vibrations.
Everything is vibration Dr. Rampa Explains. There is nothing but vibration. We feel a thing, no matter whether it is stationary or moving. We touch it and we feel it because it has a certain vibration which can be received and interpreted by one of our nodes attuned to that type of frequency, in other words we are sensitive in the sense of touch. Some other article is vibrating much more rapidly. We cannot feel it with our fingers, but our ears pick up that vibration and we call it sound, Beyond that rang there is a range of frequencies which are much higher, we cannot touch them, we cannot hear them, but more sensitive node which we term eyes can receive those frequencies or vibrations and resolve them inside our brain into definite pattern and so we get a picture of what the thing is. Kind of like Radio with the fairly coarse vibrations of AM and the faster wave band of FM frequencies, or the UHF frequencies where we can pick up television. This kind of illustrates how the overself can send out “pseudopods” – humans to receive vibrations of a special frequency
So supposing that the overself regards earth as only AM, then the overself can have “pseudopods out on higher frequencies, and maybe you get a nightmare because the overself got its lines crossed and you pick up the impressions of bug eyed monsters!
Hmm, or you get artists who are trying to capture something they cat quite explain, being inspired by the overself out exploring different dimensions. Getting bits of subconscious knowledge from the other sides of the perfect cube that is altogether You!
If that all makes any sense.
