There are few things in life that are more embarrassing than being the cause of a held up queue. The main reason why this causes shame, lowered eyes, nervousness, sweaty palms and that intense wish that you were someone else, is because of the disdain we hold for people who cause us the delay when we are standing in a queue eager to get on with the next part of out day. Unfortunately, I have felt responsible for a delayed queue even though, strictly speaking, it wasn?t really my fault.
