In W. H. Auden?s poem ?In memory of W. B Yeats? we found out the day of the death of William Butler Yeats was a an unforgettable one. It was a day like no other, a day to remember ? What instruments we have agree, The day of his death was a dark cold day.? As if mother earth sensed that this day, a tragedy and an enormous loss to the world of poetry was bound to occur. She provided all the natural elements to make this day, a day no-one would ever forget.
This poem is divided into three different parts or sections. Section 1 includes lines 1 through 31, section 2 includes line 32 to line 41 and the last section, section 3 goes from lines 42 to the end.
