Chill Factor
A government experiment was taking place on an island. This experiment was top secret. It was heavily guarded by the armed forces. It was time to shut down the lab but the experiment needed to be tested. The general went in the lab and asked why was it not shut down. The scientist said not to worry that all they needed was to test it one last time and they would still shut down by that night. Everything was being run through a computer to see how the chemicals in this bomb would react. The first result was just as the doctor had expected. When they ran it to see how big an area it would affect it delayed. The one working the computer said it would take about an hour before they would get the result. Since they were pressed for time he decided to go on without this result. Since his first prediction was right he figured that the prediction on the distance was also correct. He sent his helper to start the test and told him to make sure everyone was about two hundred feet away. This time his prediction was far from right. The bomb was about to go off when the computer finally got the result and it was five thousand miles this bomb would affect. It was too late to warn anyone. The bomb exploded and wiped out eighteen soldiers. The whole island was destroyed. The only ones who survived were the general, doctor, and the one working the computer. They returned to the U.S. Here the general was tried and convicted to ten years in prison for the lives of his soldier. Since the doctor was needed to try to complete the bomb he was not punished. Ten years later the general was released. He went out in search of the doctor. Then he finally found the doctor at a restaurant where he was about to have a meal. The doctor was a friend of the person who worked the nightshift at the restaurant and they had just finished fishing. The doctor s friend s name was Mason. When the doctor saw the general he was very scared. The general told him that he would see him in hell and that he had realized that giving his life to the military was a mistake. That night the doctor could not sleep so he went to the lab to work on the bomb. Soon after the general arrived with his new friends. They took out the guard at the front gate and proceeded on. They wiped out everyone that was guarding the lab. Then they went on to look for the doctor who they found. As soon as the general saw him he let out a shot. The doctor was hit. They walked into the doctor s room and saw the blood on the floor but he was no longer in there. They then started searching for the bomb, which the doctor had nicknamed Elvis. They broke into the safe but Elvis was gone. The doctor had slipped away with the bomb. They went out in search of the doctor. At this time Cuba Gooding Jr. enters the picture as Arlow. He was delivering ice cream. The doctor then walked bleeding to death. He told Mason what was going on and that he was the only person he could trust. He told Mason to take the bomb to Macfurlen the new general. He also told him to make sure not to let the bomb s temperature get below fifty degrees or it would go off. After giving Mason all the instructions the doctor died. Mason then told Arlow that he needed his ice cream truck. Arlow did not want to give up the truck so Mason had to pull out a gun. Mason and Arlow played it off like they hadn’t seen the doctor when the general questioned them. As soon as he left they got in the ice cream truck and took off. Towards the end they capture Arlow and Mason trades what the general thinks is the bomb for Arlow. They get away only to get caught by the officer who dislikes Mason. Mason is about to get killed when Arlow stabbed the general who then was blown away by the bomb.
